Redi-Roll™ Concrete Built for Durability, Speed, and Cost Savings

Redi-Roll™ Roller Compacted Concrete (RCC) is a low-moisture, zero-slump mix placed with asphalt-like equipment. It delivers flexural strengths of 3.5 to 6.9 MPa and compressive strengths of 28 to 42 MPa without forms, reinforcement, or finishing.

Asphalt-Style Placement with Concrete Performance

Redi-Roll™ uses standard asphalt paving methods for rapid installation, offering 25+ years of maintenance-free service at equal or lower cost than asphalt.

Frequently Asked Questions

Our CBM Concrete Solutions product line covers a wide range of project needs – from self-consolidating and high-workability flatwork mixes to fibre-reinforced, accelerated strength, extended workability, and durability-focused formulations. All mixes are performance-based and CSA-compliant. Our technical team can also develop custom mix designs for projects with specific structural or environmental requirements.

We work directly with engineers and contractors before the first truck arrives – reviewing exposure class, strength development, pumping distances, and workability windows to build a concrete program around your project, not around a standard product. The Gordie Howe International Bridge, the Eglinton Crosstown LRT, and 141 Bay are examples of that process at work.

Yes. Every customer has access to the same ready mix concrete solutions and quality-controlled mixes that go into our largest builds. Get in touch with your local CBM representative to discuss your requirements.

CBM is proud to be part of Votorantim Cimentos, one of the largest building materials companies in the world. Our VC Way is the operating philosophy that runs across the entire Votorantim Cimentos family – and it shapes how our teams work every day. For our customers, that means decisions made close to the job, clear communication from order to delivery, and accountability that does not stop once the truck leaves the plant. The work we did at Ripley’s Aquarium, the Gordie Howe International Bridge, and other countless projects reflects exactly that – sustained technical collaboration, dependable execution, and a standard of care that holds across the full life of a project.

Redi-Roll™ is a zero-slump, low water/cement ratio mix (typically 0.35–0.40) proportioned for maximum density and Vebe consistency of 10–20 seconds. The no-slump consistency requires precise moisture control and compaction within the 1-hour placement window to achieve target flexural strengths of 3.5–6.9 MPa and compressive strengths of 28–42 MPa.

Redi-Roll™ requires 98% modified Proctor density (ASTM D1557) achieved through initial breakdown passes with vibratory padfoot or smooth drum rollers (8–10 tonne class), followed by 4–6 static passes with 10–12 tonne smooth drum rollers. Nuclear gauge testing at 150–300 mm lifts confirms compaction before proceeding to cure with wet burlap or curing compound.

Redi-Roll™ uses 1.5–2.5 m transverse contraction joints with clean vertical sawcuts to 20–25% slab depth, spaced at 4–6 m longitudinally, created within 24 hours of placement. Curing begins immediately after final compaction using wet coverage or ACR curing compounds—no wet curing required beyond 7 days, unlike conventional concrete flatwork.
